Teachers College is situated in Fuyang City, the central city in the Northwest Anhui Province. It is a city which has a long cultural history. Some Chinese historic cultural elites like Guanzi, Laozi, zhuangzi, Caocao, Caopi, Caozhi, Ou Yangxiou, Sushi, Zenggong were born or lived here. The college is close to the ancient Yingzhou West Lake, Beijing-Kwoloo Railway Mashalling Station, and 4c Grade Airport which is convenient in transformation and excellent environment.

The college was founded in 1956. In 1977. It began enrolling four-year students. In 1978 it was ratified by the Nation Council as the present name---Fuyang Teachers College and grew into one of the first colleges and universities to have the right of issuing the bechelors' degree. In 2005 it won the second national teaching achievement. In 2008 it won the "excellent" result in the teaching evaluation by the Educational Department of the country. In 2009 it is ratified successfully as the construction unit of newly-increasing Masters Degree College. In its fifty years of history the college has sent to the society 80000 graduated students and the quality of the students is recognized by the society. The college is regarded as the cradle of primary education in the Northwest Anhui Province; the base of qualified personnels; the platform of scientific creation and the window of cultural construction.

The college now possesses now cumpases of Qinhe and West Lake which together occupy 987000m2 of which teaching houses are 481000 m2. It has 16 teaching schools, 46 four-years specials which cover nine branches of literature, science, education, economics, administration, law, industry and agriculture. It enlists the students to the whole country. It has about 23000 four-year students( including the Information Engineering College). The college has three provincial key branches of Chinese Ancient Literature, Educational Economy and Administration and Biochemistry and Molecular Biology; three characteristic specials of Physics, Mathematics and Applied mathematics and Chinese Literature. It has six provincial institutes of Anti-old and feeble Traditional Chinese Medicine Anhui Province Engineering Tecgonology Center, Anhui province Key lab of Cmbryo Growing and Reproduction Adjustment, Anhui Province Key lab of Environment Pollution Decreasing and Inspection, Anhuui Province humkanity Social Science key Research Base North Anhui Cultural Research Center and Migrant Workers Research Center. The total value of scientific and research instruments is 0.18billion yuan. The College owns 1720000 varieties of books and 8560 different kinds of Chinese and Foreigh magazines. It has 23 Chineses and Foreign net resources like JFD, and Superstar Library,etc.

There are about 1100 teaching staff, of which 875 of them are progessional teachers, 317 of them are professors and associate professors. There are 633 Teachers with doctor and master degree, 85 of them are nominated as "National Personnels of Hundred of Thousand Personnel Engineering" "Excellent Personnels of Anhui Province" who enjoy the subsidy given by the Nation Council and the Province. Some won the title of " the National and Provincial Excellent Teachers" and "Anhui Province Famous Teachers". The college engages 93 professors as part-time professors like Mr. Liu Depei, vice-president of CAE, and Mr. Chen Guoliang , the academician of Chinese Academy of Science.

The college takes more concern on the scientific research work and issues a lot of stinulus policies on it , so the scientific research ability is stengening. In recent five years, we altogether carry 550 different kinds of researches, of which 78 of then are Provincial and National researches. The college won 86 Anhui Scientific Progress Awards and Anhui Social Scientific Art Awards. The teachers have issued 4072 essays, of which 672 of them are on the important magazines. They also issued 153 Books and 400 Fine-art Works. We have Fuyang Teachers College Magazine (Social Science Edition and Natural Science Edition), Fuyang Teachers College Newspaper and Ahui Basic Education Magazine.

The college always takes the socialist direction in managing and carries out the healthy and progressive cultural atmosphere. We carry series of second class activities like "Future Teacher Competition", "Students Scientific and technologic Art Festival" and so on.
